Introduction to Electronate

Welcome to the Electronate documentation. Electronate is a comprehensive electrical estimation platform built to help contractors and manufacturers estimate panelboards and switchboards significantly faster than traditional methods.

How it Works

The platform is broken down into three core pillars:

  1. Digital Takeoffs: Upload PDF engineering drawings, automatically set the scale, and begin counting symbols and measuring runs. Items are aggregated in real-time.
  2. AI Specification Analysis: Most commercial jobs come with dense specification books. Upload these to Electronate, and you can query the document in plain English (e.g., "What are the busbar material requirements?"). The AI will point you to the exact page and clause.
  3. Quote Generation: Combine your quantities with your custom parts database and labor rates to generate a polished, client-ready quote directly within the browser.

Note for first-time users

To get the most accurate results, we highly recommend reading the Quick Start Guide before attempting your first live bid on the platform.

Supported File Types

  • Drawings: PDF files (.pdf) are required for digital takeoffs. Vector PDFs offer the best snapping precision, though rasterized PDFs are also supported.
  • Specifications: PDF format is required for the AI Spec Analysis tool. Searchable text PDFs provide the best results.
  • Exports: Quotes and BOMs can be exported as `.csv`, `.xlsx`, or `.pdf`.
